The Sound of the Valley

As a part of the intermediate music curriculum, we will soon be learning to play the soprano recorder in music class.

To make it more convenient and more economical, we will be happy to order the recorders for you.  The price is $2.50.  We do have a class set of recorders that your child may use should you not be able to purchase a recorder.  These will be cleaned between classes and will not be able to be taken home for practice.

The program we use is called Recorder Karate.  It is a highly motivating and fun way to learn music.  Your student will want to practice so that they can advance through the program.  Please consider buying two recorders so that your child may leave one recorder in the classroom and one at home for practicing.  This way your child will not have to remember to bring the recorder back and forth.  When our unit is complete we would like to continue using recorders throughout the rest of the year to supplement other lessons.
